If I was a Victorian era invalid, I think I would really try hard to get better soon so I wouldn’t have to eat blanc mange! Sounds awful, I was thinking it would be more like a nice white junket pudding. I remember it was mentioned a couple of times in ‘Little Women’ by Louisa May Alcott.

I think it was mostly the Irish moss that made it so bad. I’m sure it’s possible to make palatable blanc mange. But this ain’t it.
